Here’s an idea…

Are you already thinking about green grass???

….and FRESH, tasty strawberries and vegetables…you know – like the ones you don’t find in many stores right now?

Yeah…us too!

More specifically though, we are brainstorming about how to make it super-EASY – in the midst of your fun-filled, crazy-busy summer for you  to get the ‘fruits of our labours’ into your home and onto your family’s table… WHILE keeping things rolling along here at the farm…and in our family life too…

On that note…we wanted to let you know that we are considering some alterations to our popular Bountiful Basket Program.  (What’s that you ask?  Read about how it generally works here.)

Due to a number of factors, there is a very good chance that we will be returning to our original model of Farm pick up only for the program this year.

THAT brings us to the ‘Question of the Day’ for today:

What if….we offered HOME DELIVERY of our Bountiful Baskets?

What do YOU think?

(….before you reply….please read ALL the way to the end….)

Hold on now….we are ONLY in the brainstorming stage of this… but we’ve got to start somewhere.

Of course it would have to be only within a defined geographical area and there would be an additional cost over-and-above farm pickup….and who knows what other parameters would be included…

We’ll be rolling out the re-vamped program in the coming few weeks.  (Don’t worry, it’s going to be GREAT!!)

We promise to KEEP the features that you love most…the surprises, the Bountiful Basket Bulletin, the sharing table…

AND…we have some exciting ideas to ADD that will make it even more worthwhile to be a part of it in 2020…like maybe preferred pricing for signing up and paying early…. payment plans… Bountiful Basket Member only specials….even the possibility of an added pick up day at the farm…

Remember….2020 IS our 20th Anniversary year… we’ll be celebrating all the way through!!

(…that means specials, deals, and perks for YOU!!)

We wouldn’t have asked the questions if we weren’t ready and willing to hear back from you!

We value your thoughts on this (and everything we do here).

  1. Planning on joining in your Bountiful Basket program for 2020. As we live close to Rideau Ferry Rd. farm pickup would be great for us. Looking forward to becoming a member.

    1. That’s wonderful to hear, Cathi!
We will look forward to having you in the program this year! Thanks for your comment. 🙂

  2. No opinion about home delivery. Pick up works fine for me.

Loved the sharing table last year! Meant I didn’t have to feel guilty about taking something I knew my family wouldn’t eat.

    1. Thanks for commenting, Heather!
So happy that the sharing table helped. That is definitely one thing we will NOT mess with going forward!!
We certainly don’t want anyone feeling guilty. Food waste is not cool!!

    2. We are happy to pick up at the farm. We are too far out of the way for delivery but we like going to the farm and saying hi and checking things out on the cart. Occasionally, we run into a pick up problem and we get it picked up or leave it that particular week. It all works out and it’s all good! Thanks.

      1. We’re happy to hear that the program is working well for you , Ann! And we love to have you drop by and say hi while you check out what’s available each time. Thanks for your ongoing support of our endeavours!!

  3. Home delivery is a great idea, I wouldn’t need to do it but I’m sure there are many who would take advantage of this added benefit. Last year was our first time participating in the bountiful Baskets and thoroughly enjoy it, of course we will be doing it again this year, thank you

    1. Thank you, Sue!
We are thrilled to hear that you were pleased with your first year in the Bountiful Basket program, and even more thrilled to have you say that you’ll return again for 2020. 🙂

    1. Awesome, Jan!
We figured that this option would be of interest to some. Life is busy!!
Stay tuned, and we’ll see what we can do!

  4. I would like to continue as I have done in the past. That is, to pick up my basket at the farm; in case I see something else that you have grown & that I want. I love that you sell what you grown & I like to buy as locally & home grown as possible. Your produce & service is perfect……absolutely no complaints. Thank you!!!

    1. Oh Brenda, thank you so very much for your response, and your commitment to supporting local!
We have to admit, we LOVE the connection that results when people come right to the farm. It’s definitely the best way to make sure that we are providing the best product and service that we’re able to.

  5. I would greatly miss the ability to pick up in Perth as limiting pick up to the farm could prevent me from being able to participate. I am out of town and the Perth option was the only reason I was able to participate… and unfortunately, I don’t think delivery to my home would make much sense to you!

    1. And Taylor…I would greatly miss our weekly chats when you come to grab your baskets!! It has been such a pleasure to get to know you just a little bit that way…and to hear all about how you prepared your vegetables from the week before…and whether or not they were a hit with ‘your guys’!! 🙂

We’re going to process all of these responses and see what kind of a compromise we will be able to come up with.
Please don’t give up on us yet!!

  6. I would not be able to get out the the farm easily every Wednesday and I am not sure I would want to pay extra for home delivery. I like the pick up option at Modern Times. I love my basket of fresh veggies every week.

    1. Totally understandable Heather,
And from what we’re hearing…you’re not alone in your thoughts.
We certainly haven’t made any final decisions yet…so hang in there.
Thank you for your feedback, and your support! It is appreciated very much.

  7. Hi Shannon:
I wouldn’t use the home delivery because I too like coming to the farm to see all your fresh produce available any given week. May I throw out one sugestion? Last year, at the end of the season, people could come to the farm and fill a basket themselves with what was available for a fixed price. I really liked that. This would be my preference for the summer. I really enjoyed filling a basket with things that I knew would get used and I knew how much money to have on hand.
Thank you for all your efforts and your fresh, fresh food

    1. Thanks for commenting, Lori! And thanks too for the suggestion! Yes…our Fill A Basket days do cause much excitement when we have them! We are definitely considering some options that will encourage folks to drop by regularly (like the Bountiful Baskets do), but still afford you a much greater level of choice in what you take home with you each time. Stay tuned… 🙂

  8. We are new to the area and recently heard about the Bountiful Basket Program. We were looking forward to joining this year 🙂 Sounds great !! Although picking up at the farm would be fun, it’s not very practical for us. The Perth location would be much more convenient but open on more information regarding delivery price and area. We are just a few minutes out of town.

    1. Hi France, and welcome to the area!
Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us. It’s so valuable for us to hear from as many people as we can before making these decisions. Hopefully we will work out a plan for 2020 which will allow you to join our Bountiful Basket program. Stay tuned…

  9. Happy New Year!

Pick up on Tues. worked well for us in Perth, but I think we could pick up at your road stand on Tues. if that’s better for you.
I liked the sharing table as well.
Delivery is not feasible for us due to distance.

    1. And Happy New Year to you as well, Cornelia!
Great to hear of yet another fan of our newly introduced Sharing Table in 2019. 🙂
Thanks for your input on the possible change of pick-up arrangements. We’ll let you know when we sort it all out!

  10. Was my first time last year and absolutely loved it! I picked up at the farm and I will continue to do so! I loved the sharing table. Thank you for a great experience and I look forward to another great one this year!

  11. We loved the bountiful basket program and have participated every other year for the past few years. I drive by the farm daily and live too far for delivery. For us the limitations have been pick-up day (we prefer pick up earlier in the week as our weekend meals are often less structured) and content (we did not participate last year so we missed out on the sharing table – which sounds like a great idea). We can’t wait to see what you come up with as we truly missed the farm-fresh produce!

    1. Thanks for your feedback, Kelly!
Other folks have also mentioned that the later-in-the-week pick up isn’t the best option for them. For 2020 we are seriously considering TWO different pick up days here at the farm…perhaps Tuesday and Thursday…
Stay tuned. More info VERY soon!!
